Born into a freed family on August 1,1778 in Ouanaminthe, Marie Louise enjoyed a privileged life. She married Henri Christophe in 1793 and was proclaimed queen in 1811.

For love, she follows her husband in his engagement for freedom. She performed her royal responsibilities and duties seriously as she considered that her title was given to her by the nation.
